I read a lot of Cymbalta reviews before I started taking the drug. Sometimes your doctor won’t tell you everything you need to know (like my experience with Effexor) so it is always good to do a little bit of research yourself.
Cymbalta is an antidepressant medication that is used to treat the symptoms of major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder, among others. It is also known as Duloxetine.
How Long Does It Take For Cymbalta To Work?
As with all antidepressants, it can take a little while for the full effect to kick in. With Cymbalta, you may see some improvement to your symptoms in as little as a couple of weeks. Usually you will feel the full effects of the drug after 6-8 weeks of taking it regularly.
How Long Does Cymbalta Stay In Your System?
The half life of a drug means how long it takes for your body to get rid of half the drug from your system. The half life for Cymbalta is around 12 hours. It will take 3 days for the drug to be completely removed from your system.
Cymbalta Weight Gain
A study conducted on the effects of Cymbalta and weight gain concluded that longer term use of Cymbalta may lead to a very slight increase in weight. The study also showed that short term use of Cymbalta can contribute to a slight loss in weight. Overall however, the study concluded that the impact of Cymbalta on weight was minimal.
Cymbalta Side Effects
As with most antidepressant medication, Cymbalta has many potential side effects. It was one of the few medications I have been on where I didn’t experience any side effects at all, however that is just my personal experience. The common side effects of Cymbalta are:
Nausea
Dry mouth
Dizziness or light headedness
Changes in appetite
Tiredness
Drowsiness
Increased sweating
Increased blood pressure
Insomnia
It is important that you discuss with your doctor any side effects that you may be feeling. They are the experts in your medical care and can make any adjustments needed if the side effects are too great for you. Quite often the side effects will lessen or go away over time, so your doctor will advise you whether you should continue to take it if you are experiencing any of these side effects.
Cymbalta Withdrawal Effects
Do not stop taking Cymbalta suddenly or without discussing it with your doctor or medical professional first. Stopping Cymbalta abruptly may lead to the following withdrawal symptoms:
Nausea
Vomiting
Dizziness
Headaches
Irritability
Nightmares
Your doctor will be able to taper your dosage down slowly to help avoid any withdrawal effects.
My Experience With Cymbalta
My experience was that I didn’t have any withdrawal effects from stopping Cymbalta. I came off it slowly over the course of a week and felt no changes during or after that time. That won’t be the same for everyone, but my experience with Cymbalta was that it was not a difficult drug to go on, stay on, or come off. Maybe I was just lucky though, and after my previous nightmare with Effexor, Cymbalta was the drug I needed at the time.
When I first went on it I was in the middle of some terrible withdrawal effects from Effexor, and Cymbalta seemed to help reduce the severity of those withdrawal effects. I found that while I was on Cymbalta I didn’t feel any relief of my usual depression symptoms, but at the same time Cymbalta wasn’t adding any additional symptoms for me.
A Drug Free Method To Beat Depression
Cymbalta is one of nearly 20 different antidepressants that I have been on in my 10+ years of fighting depression and anxiety. Unfortunately for me, I never found the solution to my illness through medication. Due to this, I explored many other options to treat my depression. One of the solutions I found was a product called Destroy Depression.
When I first read about it, it sounded pretty impressive. So impressive, that I thought it was too good to be true and couldn’t possibly work. I almost moved on but after some thought, I decided I would go ahead and buy it. It cost far less than being on medication and they offered a 60 day, no questions asked money back guarantee. I didn’t think it would work for me, but because I could get my money back if it didn’t work I decided to give it a shot.
That turned out to be the single best decision I ever made with regards to my depression treatment. It really was a life changer for me. It is a 7 step system that is easy to follow and easy to implement, even on days when I was feeling extra down and less motivated to help myself. I stuck to putting into practice what it teaches, and I have finally come out of the other side in a far better position than I have been in for the last 10 years. Some people have even beaten their depression completely by using this course.
I am no longer on medication thanks to Destroy Depression and although I still suffer from depression, it is far less severe and restrictive than it has been in the last 10 years. I am able to do a lot more for myself these days and live a far better life than I was while I was struggling with depression and being on so many different medications. This course can be used in addition to medication, but for me it became my alternative to taking medication.
From time to time I review products on my website that I have found to be successful for me. I only review products that I have used myself and I only give honest reviews. I have written a full review on Destroy Depression here. If you want to go straight to the product page then you can click the link below.
I encourage you to try it out. You will still need to implement the strategies that it teaches you, but I found that wasn’t too hard to do at all. I hope you have the same results as what I have had, but given the money back guarantee it really is a risk free thing to try.
